The Polar Vortex Song

I have adapted a well-known song so that you have something to sing as we experience the descent of the polar jet stream to our environs. My respects to Mel Torme and Robert Wells.

The T-1000 Shatters

Chestnuts freezing in an open field
Jack Frost nipping off your nose
Warm-weather songs being cried by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows big mittens and some Toastytoes
Help to keep your hands and feet.
Shivering folks with their boots full of snow
Are hugging strangers just for heat.

We know that Spring is on its way
But months from now, so there’s no hope for it today.
Now every mother’s child is gonna say
That clothing layers make it really hard to play.

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it’s been said many times, many ways
Polar vortex to you.
Polar vortex to yoooooooouuuuuuu.
